  • Spring Foraging Workshop: Saturday, April 18, 2026, 9:00am-12:00pm

Join us on this gentle and educational walk along the Jackson County Greenway. As we ramble, we will learn about edible plants and mushrooms that we encounter along the way. We’ll discuss identification techniques, cooking methods, foraging ethics, and medicinal preparations, leaving time to admire the non-edible plants and mushrooms, too! This event is open to foragers, nature lovers, hikers, and chefs of all knowledge and skill levels. Please note that we will not be harvesting anything during this walk, and plant collection is not allowed on the Jackson County Greenway.

Your guide will be Skye Cahoon, Outreach Director at Mainspring Conservation Trust. She does not hold a commercial foraging license, and any information shared during this workshop is considered hobby knowledge only. Always consult with experts and verified sources before consuming any wild forageables.

This event is donation-based, with a suggested donation of $15. Please follow the link below to learn more.
