Native Plant Walk on the Jackson County Greenway

Learn about the native plants growing along the Jackson County Greenway during this late-summer season.

Join local naturalist guide Sarah Jones for a leisurely stroll on the Jackson County Greenway to discover the beauty and benefits of native plants. Learn how to identify them, hear their stories, and see how they support wildlife and pollinators—right here in our own backyard!

The greenway is paved and relatively flat. This adventure is open to all ages and skill levels. Participants are encouraged to bring a water bottle and to dress appropriately for the weather (never hurts to be prepared with a rain jacket in the Smokies).

The walk will begin at Locust Creek Trailhead, at 342 Old Cullowhee Road, Sylva. You can find directions HERE. Plan to meet your guide at the sign kiosk between the parking lot and the pedestrian bridge.

Suggested donation: $15

Limited to 20 participants.
